Help Design this year's Eagle Scout Recognition Dinner Patch!
Fellow
Eagle Scouts - The NESA Chicago Eagle Scout Recognition Dinner is
coming in January. This is our premier annual event and one that a
lot of people will put loads of time and energy in to so it is a
success. No matter your current level of involvement with NESA,
you are welcome to help design our 2014 Shoulder Strip. Proposed
designs are due by November 1.
The strip must
include a fleur-de-lis, "2014" and "Chicago Area Council". This
link gives you the required outline of the shoulder patch:
Interested?
Send us your design by November 1. Questions? Please
ask. It would be pretty cool to say you designed a patch to honor
a year's worth of new Eagles. Designs should be submitted via email to [email protected].
Career Mentoring Program
Last fall we held
our first-ever career fair for Chicago Scouts and high school
students. We had over 25 professionals on hand to provide the
youth an opportunity to learn from adult experts about careers in a
number of different industries.
We would like to
continue providing this type of mentoring to Chicago Scouts and high
school students by creating a network of professionals who would be
willing to travel to local schools to do a short presentation (no more
than one hour total) about their industry and career interests.
This program will
be conducted in conjunction with the council's Career Exploring
program. We will utilize a career interest survey to determine
which industries the students are most interested in so we are able to
coordinate appropriate speakers. The program would be open to all
students (male and female) and, if allowed by the school, Scouts who are
at least 14 years old.
Currently we are
gathering information on professionals who would be interested in
participating in this program by speaking at a school once or twice a
year.

Service Center. Pizza will be provided.
What if I haven't
been involved before? Not a problem! NESA Chicago wants input from ALL
Eagle Scouts.
I have a few ideas
for new events - Are you interested? Sure we are! Bring them along -
they're all welcome!
